Not covered: Zhihu (知乎), Kuaishou (快手), WeChat Channels (视频号, app-only) and private or deleted posts are not read today. On Weibo, a post only signed-in followers can see (关注可见) is not read either — that one is refused, not guessed, and not charged, unless it carries a video, which the extension can read from your own signed-in tab. Before you integrate
Is there an API to read Chinese social media posts into an LLM?
Yes. LinkDigest takes a post link — Xiaohongshu (RedNote), Douyin, Weibo, WeChat Official Account, Bilibili, 小宇宙 — and returns the content an LLM can use: the transcript with times, the text on screen and in images, the caption, top comments and key points with quotes checked against the post. One POST to https://linkdigest.dev/api/v1/digest, or the MCP server at https://linkdigest.dev/mcp for Claude Code, Cursor and other agents.
Do I need a Chinese phone number, a Xiaohongshu or Douyin account, or cookies?
No. LinkDigest reads public posts on its own servers; it never asks for or uses your account or cookies, so nothing of yours can be banned.
How is this different from a raw social data API?
Raw data APIs (Just One API, TikHub and others) return the platform's JSON — metadata, comment pages, creator profiles — across many platforms, for you to parse. LinkDigest reads the post itself: it transcribes the speech, reads the text on screen and in every image, and hands back AI-ready text with checked quotes. If you need Zhihu or Kuaishou, every page of a comment thread or creator analytics, a raw data API fits better; if you need what a post actually says, LinkDigest does that part.
What does it cost?
10 free credits on sign-up, no card. A post is 1 credit; video is 2 credits for a 1-minute clip; the speech only (depth "script") is 1 credit per started 2 minutes with no base, so a 5-minute video is 3. Packs are one-time: 50 credits for $1.50 or ¥9.9 by Alipay. Links anyone has read are free; reads that fail are free.
