What you should know
- Fetching other people’s platforms breaks.
- Platforms change their pages without warning. When one breaks, LinkDigest fails loudly rather than guessing, and the coverage table is updated. Cancel any time from the billing portal.
- Douyin runs on session cookies.
- It works today for both video posts and image notes, but the session behind it needs periodic refreshing. If it ever goes down, that is why, and it is monitored.
- We never store the media.
- Video and images are processed in a temporary directory deleted before the request returns. Only the text digest is kept.
what a credit buys
Priced by the work, not the link
A tweet and a twenty-minute video are not the same amount of work, so they are no longer the same price. These are computed from the real formula, so they cannot drift from what you are actually charged.
| Link | Credits |
|---|---|
| A web article or a short post | 1 |
| A Xiaohongshu note with 12 images | 2 |
| A 3-minute Douyin video | 4 |
| A 20-minute YouTube video | 21 |
| A 45-minute talk, transcript-first (depth: transcript) | 24 |
| A link someone has already digested | 0 — always free |
