Read a video from your own tab
Douyin has refused automated reads since 2026-10-09, and we don’t break its gate. The extension records what your own tab plays, like a screen recorder, and reads that. On a Xiaohongshu search page it reads the notes you can see.
What it is for
Play it in your tab, press one button: transcript with timecodes, on-screen text, key points. Douyin refuses every automated read; your own tab is the lawful way.
Search as you already do, press the second button, pick how many notes: every note read with its top comments, one comparison page over them.
A lecture, a livestream replay, a course page: the extension records what the tab plays and reads it the same way.

Install
- Download the zip above and unzip it.
- Open
chrome://extensionsand switch on Developer mode (top right). - Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped folder.
- Press the LinkDigest icon in the toolbar and paste your key once.
Not yet on the Chrome Web Store.
What it never does
- Nothing until you press the button, on that one tab. No content scripts, nothing in the background.
- No cookies, passwords, other tabs, site APIs or media URLs. Its only network permission is
linkdigest.dev. - The notes button reads only the links already on the page, with the share token the page itself put there. No scrolling, no guessing.
- The result is private to your account and the recording is deleted when the job ends. Price: the same as a link of that length, 10 free credits to start.
